What preschool teachers go above and beyond to help the youngest ones build a foundation of learning? ELC wants to hear about them!
This year, the Early Learning Coalition of North Florida is hosting its 9th annual Preschool Teacher of the Year award. And nominations are open!
This year, two teachers will be honored from the six counties we serve. The first teacher will be an infant/toddler teacher. The second winner will be one of our preschool teachers who works with ages 3-5.
A beloved storybook character, like Pete the Cat or Clifford, will bring balloons & flowers to visit the winners. The winners will be honored during an awards ceremony at our Early Educators Conference on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Thrasher Horne Center in Orange Park. A $500 cash prize & free conference admission also await the winners.

The Important Details
- Nominations are open until December 19, 2025.
- Click here to download the nomination form. Fill out as much of it as you can and with details.
- Take time to write extensively about the nominee. There is just a small space on the actual form to write. Please include extra pages. The more you write, the better your nominees’ chances, as it gives the nominating committee more knowledge about the nominee.
- Instructions for turning in the form are located near the top of the form.
- Winners will be notified between January 12-23.
